#1 | | Member | Sometimes, when i turn on my phone, it says "car kit" and when i try and make calls, i cant hear or talk, because it is in car kit mode. Ive never used or even owned a car kit, and its doing this randomly. Does anyone know how to turn it off? I have an LG vx7000

#2 | | Super /\/\oderator | By any chance did you get your phone wet or was it exposed to moisture?

#6 | | Super /\/\oderator | See strangely what sets off "car-kit mode" is when your get your phone wet, do me a favor there should be a sticker either on the battery or the back of the phone that looks either solid red or pink, tell what color it is.

#8 | | Newbie | My phone has the same issues. LG 3200, suffered minor water damage (had it in a grocery bag with a mug which I *thought* was empty and *thought* was screwed shut, but nooo....), dried it out for six or eight hours, now it seems to have this inordinate fascination with "Car Kit" mode.
Any ideas?
>>EDIT: Took the phone apart... Inside the back of the phone, there's a small round sticker at the bottom with pinkish-red dots.

That sticker indicates the phone has at one time or another been wet. That will be the first thing the service rep or tech will look at. I hate to say this, but in your case you may have to get a new phone.
Because if you've done as you say and let the phone dry out for a period of time, and it still won't function, it probably won't....ever.

#10 | | Newbie | What's strange is that when I leave it out to dry, assemble it, and power it up, it works normally for a certain amount of time before going into "Car Kit" mode.
I take it from what you're saying that there's no way to get it *out* of "Car Kit" mode?

#11 | | Super /\/\oderator | another case of the "getting your cell phone wet makes your LG go into car kit mode"
I think that pretty much confirms what i've always said about that issue.

#12 | | Daderator | That still baffles me. I've personally never seen this car kit mode. I may have to dig one of my old 3200's out just to try it and see.

#14 | | Daderator | Throw it in the sink and turn on the water (which I have done). Now I have it apart, letting it dry out. Lets see what happens in a few.
